Return/Refund Policy:
At the SPE Bookstore we want you to be happy with your order. We are glad to accept returns under the following conditions:
- Returns must be made by traceable means within seven (7) days of receipt of your package
- Returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee (returns due to defect will not incur a restocking fee)
- Shipping fees for returns will be borne by the customer unless item is returned due to defect
- You must contact the SPE Bookstore for a return authorization prior to returning an item

- Are unable to make a credit card purchase? At this time we can only accept
valid credit cards for online payment, however, if you do not have a credit card or need to use another form of
payment please call the SPE Bookstore

for international calls or in Houston.
Prepayment is required for all orders. If you select to pay by check the order will be
shipped once the check has cleared our bank. For
wire transfer payments there
is an additional U.S.$20.00 bank fee that
will be added to your order total.
- Do not want to use your credit card online?
The SPE Bookstore uses a highly secure encryption system to protect your
credit card data ensuring your information cannot be stolen or abused. However,
if you would prefer to not use your card online you can call in your order at 1-877-745-0707 or 1-281-345-0707
for international or Houston calls or fax your order to 1-281-345-4848 . Be sure to the have item
numbers for the products you will be ordering.
- Have a problem with your order? If there is a problem with your
order please send an e-mail to support@store.spe.org. In your
message be sure to include your order number, your name, your contact information (e-mail address and phone),
and a description of your issue. We want you to be completely satisfied and will work quickly to remedy
any problems you may encounter.
- Have a product question? The SPE Bookstore strives to
provide complete product descriptions and data to help you make your purchase decision quickly and
easily, however, if you have a question about a particular product we are here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- When is my credit card charged for my order? When you place your order we run an authorization against your credit card to verify its validity and check for funds, however, your card is not actually charged at this time. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is ready to ship. We will charge your card when we package your order and prepare it for shipment.
- What currency is used on the SPE Bookstore? All prices quoted on the SPE Bookstore are in United States Dollars (USD).
- Do I have to pay taxes? Orders shipped to a Texas address will require sales tax payment (8.25% of your order total).
- How long does it take to receive my order? Delivery time varies depending on stock availability and country of destination. For a full explanation of shipping and processing times, please check out our Shipping & Handling page.
- Who publishes the products you sell? The SPE Bookstore represents a broad selection leading industry publishers (Elsevier Science, John Wiley & Sons, Pennwell, OPL, etc.) as well as an assortment of smaller specialty publishers (Murchison Drilling Schools, IADC, Planning Press, etc.). We bring together the best selection of titles to give you the best resource for the information and products you need.
- Do you have a physical store? The SPE Bookstore operates strictly via the Internet and catalogs; we do not currently operate a physical store.
- How much will I be charged for shipping? Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of your order and its destination. We will give you a shipping price when you complete your purchase.
- Why is economy shipping no longer offered? To
improve the delivery time and the successful delivery of each order, the SPE Bookstore must ship by
express couriers. The change is toallows orders to be tracked as well as help reduce the number of lost or delayed orders.
- How will I know when my order has shipped? An e-mail message will be sent to the e-mail address provided letting you know when your order has shipped. The message will include the carrier (DHL, etc.), your tracking number (if available), the ship to address, and the items included in the shipment.
- Why is there a price difference between the catalog and website? Due to the nature of printed catalogs, prices may change. Catalogs take time to design, print, and distribute. Furthermore, they have a long life. Unfortunately, prices can and sometimes do change from the time a catalog is printed to the time an order is placed. If there is a difference in price between the catalog and the website, you will be charged the price on website as this is the most accurate and up to date at any given time.
- Who pays customs/duties on international orders? You, as the customer, are responsible for any customs, duties, or import taxes charged for shipping an order to any country outside the United States.
