Creating a quote is easy.
You will need to have an SPE login. If you don't have one already, you may want to create one before beginning the process (see below).
- Load your shopping cart with the items you want to purchase
- Select Checkout Now
- Login (if you are not already logged in)
- You'll be asked to enter or confirm your billing and shipping address (if different), then select Continue
- Select your desired shipping method (middle of page)
- Below the summary of your order are two options -- to save the order as a quote or to pay now
- Select save as a quote
- From the next screen you can print the quote. Quotes are valid for 90 days. After 90 days, pricing and shipping costs may be subject to change.
- If you need wire transfer instructions, there is a button that will send you an email with wire transfer information. [You will need to be logged in.]
Revising a quote
If you need to revise an existing quote:
- Login to the bookstore
- Select the link for Account in the header
- You'll see a list of your recent orders and/or quotes
- Select the quote you want to modify
- Click the Reorder button in the box at right. This will put the items from your quote into a shopping cart
- Change quantities, add or remove products, then save the cart as a new quote (using the instructions above)
Placing an order from a quote
When you are ready to place your order based on your quote:
- Login to the bookstore
- Select the link for Account in the header
- You'll see a list of your recent orders and/or quotes
- Select the quote from which you want to place an order
- In the box at the top of the page, select Place Order
- The default payment option (credit card) will be shown, but you can choose an alternate method to the left
- Supply the requested information to complete your order
Creating a login for the site
The SPE Bookstore uses single sign-on with the SPE website. So any login for the SPE website will also work in the bookstore. If you do not already have a login:
- Click the Login button in the header
- Select New User Registration
- Enter a little bit of information about yourself (name, address, email)
- Set up a password and security question
